The Favero Braking Set (Art. 900-13) is an original spare part for the Favero Millennium Reel (Art. 900). It is a complete brake assembly designed for replacing a worn braking mechanism.
Centrifugal brake function
The Millennium Reel features a centrifugal brake that automatically reduces cable rewinding speed. When the fencer releases the cable at a distance from the reel, the brake prevents excessively fast rewinding – protecting both the cable and the fencer-end socket from damage at the end of the rewind cycle. A properly functioning brake significantly extends cable life and reduces repair costs.
When to replace the brake
The brake should be replaced when the cable rewinds too quickly and the fencer-end socket hits the reel body with a noticeable impact. A worn brake is one of the most common causes of reel cable damage.
