When I brought home a bronze medal from the 2024 Paris Olympics, a lifelong dream came true. But you know what I realized? A medal is a beautiful thing, but over time it ends up gathering dust in a display case. What truly remains behind us is character, a sense of fair play, and the joy of movement.

My name is Jiří Beran, and at 5M we play for much more than just points on the piste. We believe that sport is the best school for life, which is why we strive to pass our enthusiasm on.

Together with my dad, Jiří Beran Sr., we launched the Šerm dětem (Fencing for Children) Endowment Fund. Our goal is simple: to get kids away from their screens and show them that physical activity is tremendous fun.

What exactly do we do?

How do we fund all this? Through fun for adults! So we can visit kids for free, we organize experiential fencing teambuildings for companies and groups of friends. You and your colleagues blow off steam in unconventional duels, and the proceeds go directly to supporting children's fencing.

Supporting the fencing community has been rooted in us at 5M from the very beginning. When my dad founded the company in 1991, it was out of sheer necessity – Czech fencers simply had nothing to fight with back then. But he wasn't satisfied with just importing equipment. He stood at the birth of the SC Praha fencing club to ensure the community had quality facilities.

We proudly support this club to this day, just like the Czech Fencing Federation and the national team representatives. We care about Czech fencing having a solid foundation.

We apply the principles that fencing taught us in everyday life as well. We know that not everyone has the same fair conditions at the starting line. Because fair play doesn't end for us when we leave the gym, we regularly financially support other organizations too:
