The UNIC FIE electric foil blade in size 3 is designed for young fencers competing in tournaments that require FIE certification – including World Cups, European Championships, and World Championships. Made from aerospace-grade maraging steel, it is supplied fully wired with a mounted point and wire, ready for immediate assembly into a weapon.
Maraging steel and "metal memory"
Thanks to specialised heat treatment, the blade instantly returns to a straight line even after extreme bending. Fencers don't need to straighten the blade after every hit – significantly extending both lifespan and comfort during bouts.
Construction and characteristics
The blade features a rectangular cross-section with a variable profile that proportionally decreases towards the tip. The shape creates a controllable "whip" effect, enabling touches to hard-to-reach areas (back, shoulder). Weight distribution is optimised for fast circular parries and high-speed remises.
Tang
The blade features a long tang for French grip. On request, the tang can be shortened for use with a pistol grip.
