The Black Knight shoulder protectors by HF Armory are a separately sold component of the modular Black Knight arm protection system. The design draws inspiration from a sport stylisation of knight plate armour from the second half of the 14th century, and the entire system was purpose-built for HEMA fencing – not adapted from motorcycle or cycling protection.

The shoulder protectors are designed so they cannot be shifted sideways or backwards, providing excellent protection of the shoulder joint during training, sparring, and competition. The shape effectively deflects the kinetic energy of strikes away from the joint.

The protectors attach to a HEMA jacket and can be combined with other components of the Black Knight system – forearm, elbow, and bicep protectors. All parts are mutually compatible and together form complete arm protection.

Made from impact-resistant plastic, the protectors are lightweight and do not restrict arm movement – the fencer retains full mobility and natural range of motion.

Supplied in a universal one-size-fits-all design suitable for most fencers.
